Digital Solutions Architect

Job Purpose:

 

The Digital Solutions Architect leads the end-to-end architecture and governance of smart-city digital solutions delivered on Platform. The role ensures that solution designs from multiple vendors align to Platform’s reference architectures, cloud-agnostic standards, security/compliance requirements, and platform service catalog. The architect translates business outcomes into actionable solution blueprints, ensures integration with Platform’s shared services (identity, observability, data, APIs), and guides delivery through design reviews, implementation assurance, and operational readiness. The role supports scalable, reusable patterns for repeatable onboarding and deployment.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Information Technology, Cybersecurity, a Master’s degree is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years in solution/enterprise architecture for large-scale digital platforms (smart city, government, telco, or critical infrastructure preferred).
  • Experience delivering cloud and hybrid solutions with Kubernetes, APIs, identity, and observability.
  • Proven governance involvement (Design Authority, architecture boards, standards and exception processes).
  • Background working with SIs/vendors under RFP/contracted delivery and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF/ADM or similar architecture frameworks and agile delivery at scale.

 

Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Strong end-to-end solution architecture skills across apps, data, integration, security, and operations.
  • Ability to govern multi-vendor delivery and drive alignment to standards without slowing execution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management: translate between business, engineering, security, and operations.
  • Proven ability to define NFRs (availability, performance, resiliency, scalability, observability).
  • Structured documentation and decision-making (ADRs, reference architectures, patterns, roadmaps).

 

Tools:

 

  • Architecture modeling: ArchiMate / Sparx EA / Visio / Draw.io
  • API & integration: OpenAPI/AsyncAPI, API gateways (Apigee / Azure APIM / Kong)
  • Delivery governance: Azure DevOps / Jira/Confluence, Git (GitHub), IaC (Terraform/Bicep)
